Welcome to the Election Day, 7th of November 2023 show. 

We'll take you back to Armistice Day a century ago, when seven-hundred people attended the Legion's Ball at the State Armory on Mason Street. 

It was a fun-filled Election Day evening for the people of Byram and Port Chester in 1908. They enjoyed the pleasure of witnessing Alex Scott -who lost an Election Day bet- wheeled Joseph Marshall in a wheelbarrow. 

On Greenwich in the Gilded Age, Erwin Edwards took his readers back to circa 1900. With trains arriving from New York City with wealthy businessmen returning to their Greenwich homes, the train station was a nightly parade of elegant horses and carriages.

In 1908, many voters were feeling disenfranchised. Why? With nearly 3000 voters in town -and only one polling station available- there were calls for additional polling stations, especially by the residents of Old Greenwich (then called Sound Beach). 

In 1906, the Greenwich Police Department was founded. We're pleased to take our listeners back in time on Crimes and Misdemeanors, a segment of the show chronicling crime and law enforcement. 

On today's show, listeners will hear about three boy burglars who caused quite a stir in the Pemberwick section of Greenwich.
