On Greenwich in the Gilded Age, our visit will take us to Knob Hill Farm in Greenwich's Backcountry -made possible on today's show by The Great Estates Greenwich, Connecticut 1880-1930 by the Junior League of Greenwich.

It is available for purchase at the Greenwich Historical Society's Museum Store, or copies may be borrowed through the Greenwich Library. It is richly illustrated, revealing a wealth of detailed history. I strongly recommend it.

On Greenwich Life As It Is-And Was, Columnist Lucien B. Edwards took his readers on a journey in July, 1923: Favorite Sport of Years Ago: Prominent Amateur Fishermen.

We continue to observe the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Greenwich Police Department on Crimes and Misdemeanors.

Greenwich Before 2000 was published as an updated, revised edition of another Greenwich history book, Before and After 1776: The Comprehensive Chronology of the Town of Greenwich. On today's show, we'll look back at Year 1780.

And in other historical news, you'll hear about an ice cream strike in July, 1923. As we countdown to Independence Day on July 4, you'll hear about how Greenwich, Connecticut's people celebrated the the holiday.

Judge Hubbard shared with his readers news and the history of an abduction case in Greenwich.

Juneteenth -also known as Emancipation Day- will be observed for the first time ever next Monday on the 19th of June at Greenwich Town Hall.

Father's Day is on June 18. Make the Greenwich Historical Society's Museum Store your destination for that special gift for him. Located at 47 Strickland Road in Cos Cob -and online- it's the discerning shopper's destination for unique Father's Day gifts. Enjoy convenient online shopping and pickup, ample free parking, complimentary gift wrapping -and coffee or tea on-the-house in the Artist's Cafe.

There’s lots to see, to do, and to learn about the history of the Town of Greenwich.
