Welcome to the 16th of July 2024 show.

This week marks the 384th anniversary of the founding of Greenwich, Connecticut on July 18, 1640.

One of my favorite conversations was one in 2018 with Historian Missy Wolfe, considered by many to be Greenwich's leading authority on the 17th century history of the town. We're featuring an encore presentation on today's show.

Wolfe is the author of Hidden History of Colonial Greenwich. Her study of the life of Greenwich founder Elizabeth Winthrop Feake Hallett, Insubordinate Spirit: A True Story of Life and Loss in Earliest America, won the Washington Irving Medal for Literary Excellence.

Innis Arden Cottage at Greenwich Point is the setting for the  Founder's Day ceremonies, a collaboration between the Greenwich Historical Society and the Greenwich Point Conservancy

It includes tours of Feake-Ferris House, the oldest house in Greenwich, Connecticut. You're invited!

You'll learn about this house on today's show from an article penned by Christopher Franco and published in CTExplored.

The Greenwich Historical Society is hosting a series of exhibitions and public events -and you're invited!

We'll have all this -and more- as our history continues to unfold.
