Welcome to the 9th of April, 2024 show.

On Greenwich in the Gilded Age, we'll journey back in time and visit Ridgecrest, made possible by Victorian Summer: The Historic Houses of Belle Haven Park, Greenwich, Connecticut by Matt Bernard.  Be sure to click this link to view the Boulders Inn. Located in Warren, Connecticut, it was built for Nelson Mead and designed by renowned architect Ehrick Rossiter -and yes, it is for sale.

Greenwich's Old Burying Ground at Byram Shore Road was the scene of long-needed repairs to its ancient gravestones -thanks to the efforts of Alex Popp. I'll have details.

Greenwich's Police Department was founded in 1906. History is replete with wrongdoings and misdeeds  on Crimes and Misdemeanors

The skies above just recently gave us the solar eclipse of 2024. I'll share details of another eclipse from Year 1970.

I admit that the earthquake of 2024 passed me; others felt the ground move under our feet. You'll hear about another earthquake that struck the region in Year 1935.

Our history is replete with news of unexpected weather phenomenon. I'll share news of the Dark Day of 1780 by Luther Prescott Hubbard, who was anxious to correct an error.

When Greenwich residents received their April 23, 1898 edition of The Greenwich Graphic, they read about An Old Lady's Outing -Mrs. George Provost returned to town in her 84th year to reminisce about Greenwich and growing up here.

We'll have all this -and more- as our history continues to unfold.
